There are many wonderful works of art on sacred topics.  We decided as a family to spend 26 weeks this year studying the art of two inspired artists.  The artists we chose are Carl Heinrich Bloch and Greg Olsen.  Their paintings of Christ go along well with our study of the New Testament this year.  As part of our Sunday devotional each week we study one painting, discuss, read scripture and sing songs pertaining to the artwork.  Weeks # 1 and # 14 are spent learning about each artist's life and taking a quick look at all the paintings we will be studying.  The painting for each week is posted where all can enjoy it daily during that week.  (GAK refers to the Gospel Art Kit, available from Church Distribution.)
