Creating this outline has taken years (literally) of planning, pondering and research.  This has been the hardest area to outline as most other plans I have looked over are based on a 4 year history rotation.  Due to the fact that I need to include a considerable amount of Canadian History & Geography in our school plans (to follow the goals of schooling here in Alberta), I could not easily adapt many other plans out there.  And now I have changed my outline again (2007)... but I am mostly happy with it.  It may change again over time.  

The study of Social Studies begins in Preschool for my children.  In addition, as a family we focus on one country each year as a geography study.  We celebrate Christmas in the style of that culture.
